Oriental Meatballs
  • 2 lbs (1 kg) ground pork
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) soy sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) beef broth
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter
  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) vegetable oil
Spicy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) mango sauce (chutney)
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) tamarind
  • Few of drops hot sauce


Oriental Meatballs
  1. In large bowl, mix all ingredients, except sesame seeds, butter and oil. Season with salt and pepper. Shape into small meatballs of preferred size and coat with sesame seeds.
  2. In skillet, sauté meatballs in butter and oil for 5 minutes over high heat. Reduce heat. Cover and continue cooking for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove meatballs from skillet and drain on paper towels. Insert a toothpick in each and serve with Spicy Sauce.
Spicy Sauce
  1. In bowl, mix chutney, tamarind and hot sauce. Refrigerate.
